	作者略歴 Brief record	厳密な計算に基づく幾何学的なパターンによって構成されたトポロジックな形態の作品を制作しているアーティスト。このトリエンナーレでは同じ原理によって生み出された、山岳地帯や氷山の浮かぶ海などの立体地図的な模型の上に、CGによって四季の光景の変化をシミュレーションした映像をヴィデオ・プロジェクターで投影するインスタレーションを発表する。94年に武蔵野美術大学研究員として来日､以後東京で活動を続けている。 Born in Germany in 1968. Lives and works in Japan. Claar has been working in Tokyo since 1994 when he came to Japan as a research fellow at Musashino Art University. Claar makes artworks in topological shape consisting of geometrical patterns based on his careful calculations. On the same principle as these works, he will build a 3D map of mountains and the ocean with icebergs at the YOKOHAMA 2001. Over the map, CG images simulating seasonal changes will be projected.
