Overview

Yokohama Triennale 2005

Yamashita Pier served as the primary venue, but works were also installed in Yamashita Park and Yokohama’s China Town. Site-specific pieces, participatory performances and collaborative projects were presented throughout the triennale to realize an exhibition as a work-in-progress. With increased opportunities for participation and exchange with citizen supporters, such as the operation of Triennale Station, the holding of courses at Triennale School, and the opening of Triennale Studio, the event signaled the triennale’s new emphasis on engaging the general public and involving local residents in a greater capacity.
