ロイヤル・カレッジ・オブ・アート出身。80年代、映像作家デレク・ジャーマンの助手を務めるかたわら、短編の実験映画を制作、90年代に入って彫刻、インスタレーションに移行、主に時間、言語、知覚をめぐる現象をテーマに制作する。
97年、ロンドンのロイヤル・アカデミー・オブ・アートでの「センセーション」展にも出品された直径173cmの凹面鏡の作品は、観るものに強烈な視覚体験をもたらした。
Born in the United Kingdom in 1958. Lives and
works in the United Kingdom.
Wyn Evans studied at the Royal College of Art.
In the 80s, he began making experimental short
films, while working as an assistant to a filmmaker
Derek Jarman. In the 90s, he moved to sculpture
and installation. He created the works dealing
with time, language and perception. In 1997, he
participated in the "Sensation" at the Royal Academy
of Art, London. At this exhibition, he showed
a concave mirror 173cm across, which created a
striking visual effect. |
