	作者略歴 Brief record	彫刻家、椿昇と、情報文化論、メディア美学を専門とする室井尚による初のコラボレーション。椿は、80年代後半からFRP（ガラス繊維強化プラスティック）で生物や有機物が突然変異的に膨張したようなカラフルな巨大彫刻を発表、89年にアメリカ各地を巡回した「アゲインスト・ネイチャー」をはじめ、多くの国際展に参加、最近ではハノーヴァー万博に出品。一方の室井は、現在横浜国立大学助教授として教鞭を執りながら精力的に批評、研究活動を行う。主著に、『メディアの戦争機械』（新曜社、88）、『情報宇宙論』（岩波書店、91）、『哲学問題としてのテクノロジー－ダイダロスの迷宮と翼』（講談社選書メチエ、2000）他、共著、翻訳書ともに多数。 Tsubaki Noboru: Born in Japan in 1953. Muroi Hisashi: Born in Japan in 1955. Both live and work in Japan. Tsubaki is a sculptor. Since the late 80s, he has been creating gigantic colorful sculptures using fiber reinforced plastic (FRP). They look as if some creatures or organisms have mutated and expanded. His works have been displayed in many international exhibitions, including "Against Nature" that toured the United States in 1989 and EXPO 2000 in Hanover in 2000. Muroi, a professor at the Faculty of Education and Human Sciences of Yokohama National University, does research and writes essays and books in the fields of informatic culture and media aesthetics. His books include "Media no Senso-Kikai" (The War-Machine of Media) Shinyosha in 1988, "Joho Uchu Ron" (On Informatic Universe) Iwanami Shoten in 1991, "Tetsugaku mondai to siteno Technology" (Technology as a philosophical question) Kodansha Sensho Metier in 2000, as well as collaborative works with other writers and translations.Tsubaki and Muroi will work together for the "YOKOHAMA 2001."
