Brief record |
Born in Japan in 1965. Lives and works in the
United States.
Sone studied architecture at the Tokyo National
University of Fine Arts and Music. After completing
his degree, he wandered about Asian countries
for a year. Sone visualizes futile processes,
using various media. In his works, efforts for
silly purposes are treated seriously and shown
as quality artworks. They often make us chuckle.
In the "Her 19th Foot" exhibited at the Contemporary
Art Gallery, Art Tower Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture
in 1993, 19 people tried to ride 19 bike rear
wheels chained together in a circle. He has participated
in 1997's Sculpture Project Munster and many other
international exhibitions. |
