	作者略歴 Brief record	もともと造園家を志していた篠田は、サイエンティフィックな要素と、独特な空間把握を生かしたインスタレーションで知られている。95年に発表された「ミルク」は、竜安寺の石庭をコンセプトにして巨大なプールに白い液体を流し、その上の壁に取り付けられた多数の蛍光灯が機械音を出しながら移動していくというインスタレーションで、鮮烈な印象を残した。 また、人間の脳とトカゲの脳の関係を考えさせられる作品「リザード」､人工衛星がテーマの作品など現代的な問題提起を含むさまざまな展開を試みている。 今回篠田は、高性能なスピーカーを多数組み合わせて音を素材にした作品を提示する。 Born in Japan in 1964. Lives and works in Japan. Shinoda, who once studied to be a landscape architect, is known for scientific installations created in his unique way of capturing the space. One of his installations "Milk" exhibited in 1995 was a striking piece. It conceptualized the rock garden of Ryoanji temple. He poured white liquid into a big pool and mounted a lot of fluorescent lamps on the wall above the pool. The lamps moved making mechanical sounds. Another piece "Lizard" compared the human brain with the lizard's brain. He has also made a piece using artificial satellites as the theme and various other works that raise questions about our time. For the YOKOHAMA 2001, he will use sound as an element combining many high-end speakers.
