	作者略歴 Brief record	数々の国際展において、実にさまざまな手法のインスタレーションを発表し常に話題を提供している。きわめて美しい空間、オブジェ、写真などから成っているが、ナラティヴな解釈を拒み、他愛のないもの、はぐらかし、ポエティックなものなどを配置して、日常の事物や経験を見直し、新たな意味を見いだすきっかけとなるような作品が多い。「ピンポンテーブル」は２台の卓球台を分割し、ひとつに再構成して中央に小さな蓮池を配し、観客が４人でゲームに参加するという、身体的な経験も要素の一つとした、楽しい作品である。 国際展：93年ヴェニス・ビエンナーレ「アペルト」展、95年光州ビエンナーレ、97年ドクメンタ、ミュンスター彫刻プロジェクト、98年第１回ベルリン・ビエンナーレ、サンパウロ・ビエンナーレ、99年カーネギー・インターナショナル99-00、2000年シドニー・ビエンナーレに参加。 Born in Mexico in 1962. Lives and works in Mexico , the United States and France. Orozco's mixed-media installations have appeared in numerous international exhibitions and been widely admired. He composes spaces of great beauty in which he places objects combined with photographs. He makes arrangements of trivial, elusive, and poetic objects, looking at everyday things and experiences in a new way and creating situations in which it is possible to discover new meanings. In Ping-Pong Table, he split two ping-pong tables down the middle and reassembled them to make one table with a small lotus pond in the middle. He then invited groups of four viewers to physically participate in playing a game on it, making it extremely entertaining as a work of art.
