	作者略歴 Brief record	ベトナム人の父と日本人の母との間に生まれ、幼少期を日本で過ごした後、78年、家族とともに米国に移住、米国で美術教育を受ける。96年からベトナムに移住し、自らの他文化背景を作品にして注目の作家となる。「シクロ」と呼ばれるベトナムの人力車や、蚊よけのためのモスキートネットなど、日常生活に見られるモチーフを取り入れて、社会とアートの関係、西洋と東洋の関係を浮き彫りにするインスタレーションを展開している。 98年、ザ・ギンザアートスペース（東京）で個展開催。2000年第３回光州ビエンナーレに参加。 Born in Vietnam in 1968. Lives and works in Vietnam. Nguyen-Hatsushia, son of a Vietnamese father and a Japanese mother, spent his childhood in Japan. He and his family emigrated to the United States in 1978 and he studied art there. He moved to Vietnam in 1996. Since then, Nguyen-Hatsushia has been living in Vietnam and making works based on his multi-cultural background, which makes him an artist to watch. He transforms everyday stuff into artworks that represent the relationship between society and art and between West and East. For example, he uses cyclos, a Vietnamese rickshaws, and mosquito nets. Nguyen-Hatsushia had a one person show at Ginza Art Space, Tokyo in 1998. He participated in the 3rd Kwangju Biennale in 2000.
