	作者略歴 Brief record	カックはインターネットと遺伝子工学の技術を用いる様々なプロジェクトに挑戦している。たとえば《GFPバーニー》では蛍光蛋白をウサギの遺伝子に組み込む遺伝子導入技術を使い、「一定の波長の光の下で緑色に発光する白ウサギ」という、全く新しい種類のウサギを創り出し、このウサギと生活を共にしている。これは遺伝子工学の未来について広範な人々の論議を喚起し、同時にこの「新しい創造物」を社会的に受け入れていく過程も作品として考える、「社会彫刻」と呼べるプロジェクトである。 Born in Brazil in 1962. Lives and works in the United States. Kac experiments various projects using the internet and genetic engineering. In his recent project "GFP Bunny," he created a green fluorescent rabbit using genetic technology to inject a rabbit zygote with the green fluorescent protein (GFP) gene. It's a white rabbit, whose fur glows green under a certain frequency of light. Kac lives with this rabbit. His aim is to rouse public debate about the future of genetic engineering. The public debate and the process through which the newly created species is accepted in society are part of the project. The project may be dubbed "social sculpture."
