	作者略歴 Brief record	自然及び実験的建築に対する深い興味を元に、彼独自の方法によってサイト・スペシフィシティ（特定の場所性）についての新しい考えを探求するインスタレーション作品を制作する。時に最新の技術や仕掛けを使用して作り出した特殊な現象を提示し、自明のものと捉えがちな現実に対する人間の知覚や環境に関する考え方やあり方に疑問を投げかけている。 国際展：98年シドニー・ビエンナーレ、サンパウロ・ビエンナーレ、99年ヴェニス・ビエンナーレ（第３回ベネッセ賞受賞）、その他カステッロ・ディ・リヴォリでの個展他、数々のグループ展にも参加。 日本では、2000年２月に現代美術センター・CCA北九州でプロジェクトを実施。 Born in Denmark in 1967. Lives and works in Denmark. Eliasson makes installations based on a deep interest in nature and experimental architecture with original methods and fresh ideas about site specificity. He often employs cutting-edge technology and equipment to showcase unique natural phenomena, questioning human perceptions that are too much taken for granted as well as ordinary ways of thinking and being in relation to the environment. International exhibitions: Sidney Biennale, Sao Paulo Biennial, 1998; Venice Bienalle, 3rd Benesse Prize, solo show at Castello di Rivoli and group shows, 1999. Japanese exhibitions: Center for Contemporary Art (CCA) Kitakyushu, February 2000.
