	作者略歴 Brief record	布や糸で動物の骨や身近な日常品をくるみこんだ、独自のフェティシズムを感じさせるオブジェの作品で知られる。また神像などに用いる市販の目のプレートをギャラリーの壁面に無数に貼り込むといった、不穏な雰囲気のインスタレーションも試みている。都市生活者の記憶の内奥に潜む情動に働きかけてくるような、特異な感覚を宿した世界である。 97年「Telling Tales」展（ニューデリー、ブリティッシュ･カウンシル･ギャラリー）に参加、その後イギリス、ブラジル等での展覧会に出品。 Born in Lucknow, India in 1958. Lives and works in New Delhi, India. Dube is known for her fetish-like objects made from animal bones or everyday stuff wrapped with cloth and threads. Dube also makes disquieting installations. In one such installation, she stuck plates of "eyes," used for statues of deities, all over the wall in the gallery. Dube creates a unique world that gets in touch with the feelings hidden in the memories of urban people. At the YOKOHAMA 2001, Dube will exhibit an installation that represents India's modern history and its plight. She is going to cover up a suite of furniture from the colonial times with ash. International exhibitions: "Telling Tales" at the British Council Gallery, New Delhi in 1997, exhibitions in the United Kingdom, Brazil and several other countries.
