ジャネット・クリステンセンは、食用のゼリーをインスタレーションに多用して、有名になったノルウエーの女性作家である。最近では、ガラスや陶を用いて、液体状の物体の形を彫刻にする仕事をしている。アンデルス・トムレンは、構成主義的な家具のような彫刻を作っていたが、ある時期から、新しいメディアの可能性に着目し、メディア・ワークも制作している作家である。横浜トリエンナーレでは、この異質な二人が、コラボレーションにより、25台のヴィデオモニターと液体のような形状の大理石の彫刻を使った作品を展示する予定。
Jeannette Christensen: Born in Norway in 1958.
Anders Tomren: Born in Norway in 1965.
Both live and work in Norway.
Christensen often uses jelly, for her installations,
which gained her much fame. In her recent works,
Christensen sculpts shapes of fluids out of glass
and ceramic.
Tomren used to make constructivistic furniture-like
sculptures. He later became aware of the potential
of new media and began producing media art works.
At the YOKOHAMA 2001, these two artists, although
different in style, will collaborate on a work
using 25 video monitors and marble sculptures
shaped like fluid. |
