韓国を代表するポップ・アーティストとして、カラフルで常に人目を引く作品を発表してきた。特に、花や韓国で縁起のいい豚などを巨大なバルーンの作品にし、数々の展覧会で強い印象を残している。インテリアデザインも手がけており、空間に合わせたダイナミックなインスタレーションを得意とする。日本にも数点のパブリックアートの作品が実現している。
96年「Tradisions/Tensions」展（アジアソサエティー、ニューヨーク）、第２回アジア・パシフィック・トリエンナーレ、98年サンパウロ・ビエンナーレ、台北ビエンナーレに参加。
Born in the Republic of Korea in 1961. Lives and
works in the Republic of Korea.
Choi is one of the most prominent pop artists
in the Republic of Korea. His works are made with
bright colors and are very striking. His gigantic
balloon flowers and pigs, which is a lucky animal
in Korea, have made a great impression at a number
of exhibitions. Choi also works as an interior
designer. He is known for dynamic installations
that go with the spaces. He has completed several
public art projects in Japan.
