Tanaka Min
Tanaka Min (Japan)
Born 1945 in Tokyo. Lives and works in Tokyo and Yamanashi Pref.
Having studied classical ballet and modern dance, Tanaka's search for a independent dance form led him to begin performing solo. He considers himself "an avant-garde who crawls the earth" and attempts to entrust himself as a single living entity to the rhythms of nature. In 2004, Tanaka switched from performing in theaters to dancing outdoors, in urban spaces and at shrines, and in hills, fields, and at the seashore and calls it "Locus Focus." In 1985, he began to practice farming and dancing, and in 2006, established an NPO "Forest of We'll".
