Jimmy Robert (Guadelope)
Born 1975 in Guadeloupe, overseas department of France. Lives and works in Brussels.
Robert reveals personal memories by means of acts based on time such as dance and performance. He attempts to enable the viewer to perceive the relation between bygone time and the existence of a yet unseen different time axis. He also dismantles the structure of a stereotyped expression and incorporates elements of photography, film, and literature into his works. His works often require the viewer to participate directly by, for example, actually touching the works.
