Pak Sheung Chuen

Born 1977 in Fukien. Lives and works in Hong Kong and New York.

While working as a conceptual artist, Pak also wrote a serial column in a newspaper and published two books. In response to current issues in the society, he produces document videos and collages using visual images and text. What he takes are everyday scenes of places his friends frequent. Yet, once such visual images merge with the text, a beautifully absurd poetic sentiment is aroused and the viewer is presented with a new perception of daily life.
