Mike Kelley

Born 1954 in Detroit. Lives and works in Los Angeles.

Kelley uses a variety of media such as painting, sculpture, photography, film, music, text, installation, and performance. In recent years he has achieved high international acclaim for his presentations of large-scale integrated installations that imitated institutions such as schools and zoos. He has also collaborated with other artists, turned his hand to acting as curator of exhibitions, and has become known for his activities in criticism.
