Rodney Graham

Born 1949 in Vancouver. Lives and works in Vancouver.

Graham has expressed himself in a wide variety of media: painting, sculpture, photography, film, installations, music, performance, and literature. His central theme is modernism seen from the present day and a re-thinking of Western Civilization. He quotes, appropriates, and transforms or deforms art, music, literature, and thought from the 19th and 20th centuries, mixing them with movies, rock music, and sub-cultures to produce humorous works of art.
