Marina Abramović

Born 1964 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Lives and works in NY.

From the late 1960s, mainly relying on performance as a mode of expression, she became known as a pioneer female performer. 　She received high international acclaim for her installations, video works, and performances that spoke to personal history and society using her body as a basis for expression.
