Kosugi Takehisa

Kosugi Takehisa (Japan)

Born 1938 in Tokyo. Lives and works in New York and Osaka Pref.

In 1960 while still at the university Kosugi established "the group music" organization to attempt spontaneous group concerts. From the 1960s he paid great attention to 'Waves', for example he hung an electrical wave transmitter and receiver from the ceiling, and made sounds by the interference wave phenomena that occurred between them. He performed a sound installation that gave rise to an undulating sound from the change in their distance brought about by the blowing wind of an electric fan.
