Douglas Gordon

Douglas Gordon (UK)

Born 1966 in Glasgow. Lives and works in Glasgow and New York.

Using a variety of media particularly film, but also including photographs, paintings, literary works, installations and performances, Gordon shakes up people’s fixed ideas. He may slow down existing movies, changing their meaning by setting them up in a manipulated space. What is consistent throughout the variety of media he uses is his own special questioning of life and death, good and evil, recognition and memory, reality and fiction, and the like.
